Team AckoFeb 8, 2024
You want your child to be self-reliant and confident. Giving opportunities where your child makes decisions on his own is very important to make him independent. Considering his inputs or opinions for decision making alone will boost his self-esteem. In day to day routines, encourage decision making from your child.
Contents
Involve your child in planning the menu. Get his inputs. For instance you can ask him, “Do you want carrots or cucumber for salad?” Whichever option he chooses, its fine because both are healthy.
When he wants to go for a birthday party, give him options on the dress he wants to wear and let him choose one.
When it comes to playing which board game, encourage him to decide. Or Which story book to read for bedtime, let him choose. Whenever your child expresses his views on any matter, never criticize, even if the views are irrelevant. This can affect his freedom of self- expression and he may hesitate to participate next time.
