Your child is now old enough to start with a few basic academic and learning activities. Now is the time to inculcate some good study habits in her. One of the best ways to learn something better is to write it down, so start teaching your little one this method.

You can start with a picture book or story book. As you read together, see which parts your child is enjoying most, and note it down. Start off with just some key words, and slowly progress towards short phrases and sentences.

As your kid grows older, teach her to jot down short points while she is reading a lesson. Later, she can revise these points to gain an overall summary of the chapter. This is a good exercise to follow that will help her even when she goes to higher classes.
