Giving enough time gaps between meals is critical to make your child a good eater. Given a choice, kids will like to snack and nibble throughout the day but this will suppress their appetite for the actual meal time when they would be served proper, nutritious food. Kids this age should not consume anything in between meals. When they snack, they just eat enough to suppress their appetite and as a result are not hungry for their next meal. Giving proper gaps in between meals gives them enough time to digest the food and metabolise it. Make it a practice to stick to meal times and avoid unnecessary snacking. This is also the time when kids form eating habits and you would not like your kid to grow up into an adult who will be snacking throughout the day.
