Making Your Child Understand The Concept Of ‘Human Rights’

As your kid grows up, the importance of human rights will become imperative to him. The best way to teach human rights begins at home. Make list of rights all the individuals of your family have. For example, right to get respect, eat, sleep, play and study. Ask him what does he think his rights are among those and why. In this way, he will be able to understand the importance of human rights.

The way he is made aware of the fact that as a human being he is born with certain rights in the world, it is imperative that he learns that there other others irrespective of caste, creed, religion and sex, are also entitled to such rights.

This kind of behaviour enforces a balanced and compassion behavior in the child. The way he treats his own self, it is the same way he does for others. Most of the time it happens that we are more conscious about making them learn their rights and forget to tell them about others. This breeds selfishness and self centered behaviour.
