Never Ask Your Child To Befriend Another Child With Whom He Isn't Comfortable

At this age, your child is meeting a host of new people in his life. While there are some he may like, there are some he may not like. If you ask, he might be able to give you an apparent reason for that.

Every child is a different personality. His wavelength or attitude will not meet with everyone. Do not force him to befriend people he doesn’t like. At times he might not be able to give you a concrete reason for dislike. But do not question his decision. Let him be around people he is comfortable with.

But then, that certainly doesn’t mean that his voice and opinion is not important. It is in fact most important from every aspect of parenting. Understand the fact that your child has his own ways of viewing and gauging things and people around him. You and me probably cannot understand his benchmarks, but for this little innocent one, that means everything. So, never push your child to befriend people against his wish. He has his own liking and disliking and his choice of people will be in accordance to that. Just respect and accept what he chooses to do.
