Want to hear something surprising? Your child will learn some of her most valuable and long-lasting life lessons, not in school as you might think, but – at play! Interacting and playing with her peers will gain her a lot of valuable experience, so encourage play as much as possible.

A key thing to remember when it comes to setting up play time for your kid is not to get too involved. Provide her and her friends with plenty of toys, but do not try to structure the play. This will encourage your child to exercise her imagination and come up with games of her own.

Keep a discreet eye on the kids while they play, but do not make your presence felt. Try not to intervene in case of a quarrel, unless necessary. Let your kid sort the matter out herself with her friends. This will teach her valuable concepts like compromise, cooperation, and conflict resolution.
