Respect Your Child Choice, and Your Child will Respect Yours....

Team AckoFeb 8, 2024

At this stage, your child's world is a lot different than a full fedged adult's world in many ways and for obvious reasons. Making your child’s world your own is one of the prerequisites of good parenting. Don’t expect that your child’s thought process will shape up the way it is yours. Understanding the fact that he is born with his own mind and sensibilities is important, and perhaps the first step towards understanding your child.

As mentioned earlier, respect his thoughts and opinions even though they may sound totally irrational. It is his and he has a reason for that. Tap the reason and try to figure out what is going on. Kindly refrain from rebuking and refuting outright what your child has voiced about. By doing so you will probably be damaging his self esteem for the worse. And, it might also happen that he never brings himself in front of you for anything because of the embarrassment of being laughed at. So, listen, absorb, understand and then react. This way you will be actually raising a balanced and a thoughtful child.
