What you eat, cook and talk about food has a huge influence on your child’s eating habits at this stage. Hence, it becomes very important to have a healthy attitude towards food as your child observes and imitates your behaviour and habits.

Never label food as bad or good or skip meals or have less fruits and vegetables.
Let your child see you making and eating healthy choices. For instance, seeing you having carrots, cucumbers, fruits, etc.
Let him see you how you indulge occasionally. For instance, you can say, “Since we are going to have ice-cream for dessert, let’s have more salad and protein for dinner.''
Have meals together as a family. This way he sees what you eat and your food choices.
Avoid cooking separate meals for your child. Your child is old enough to be eating what others in the family eat. Invite your child to cook meals with you. For instance, adding toppings to pizza, making sandwich.
