Team AckoFeb 8, 2024
Meal time is always a great bonding experience for all the family members, where everyone gets together and talks and interacts with one another, sharing the day’s events and having a great time over a meal. Naturally, your child too should feel that sense of joy of bonding with everyone in the household and what better way to do so than by having your child sit at the table like everyone else!
Contents
1. Have your child sit at the same table that everyone is dining at, with the help of a high chair or booster chairs, with straps and a comfortable seating apparatus. With the advantage of being able to keep an eye on your child while you have your meal without the constant struggles and hassles of having a separate table for him, you will also be giving your little one a sense of belonging and equality among his other family members, making meal time a fun and enjoyable experience for him!
2. With the necessary utensils that are kept for your child and your child alone (commonly used things such as bowls, plates, spoons and forks constructed with your child’s safety in mind), begin to serve your child the similar food that the rest of the family is having, made suitable for consumption by him after appropriate processing. By doing so, not only are you treating and showing your child equality but also getting him used to the house hold’s regular food.
3. At this age, everything to your child is like another game and playing around with his food is something that you can expect your child to do when he is at the dinner table. Make sure that he does not harm himself while he is playing around with his food, as your child will often smear himself and his clothes and table with his food, in the fun of the moment for him!
4. Keep in mind that your child is still growing up and that the concept of table manners and the appropriate behavior at the dining table is something that you will have to teach your child slowly over some time. Be patient, loving and cooperative with your little one as all his play is always in good spirit.
