Your kid is already going to school and learning something new and interesting every day. However, do not forget the adage “Learning begins at home.” Your kid will still be the most receptive to you, her parent. So you need to back up at home whatever she learns at school.

School is where your child learns her first lessons. But until and unless these are revised and reinforced, you cannot expect your child to become skilled at what she learns. Make sure you check all her school books and diary daily. Have regular meetings with your kid’s class teacher to remain up to date on what is being done in class.
Sit with your child daily for a short time to revise lessons. However, you can make the whole process fun, so that your kid is more receptive. Games which help in developing vocabulary, for example - fill in the gaps, scramble or rearrange the letters to form a word, can be put to use.
