At this stage, your child is entitled to making at least a few choices when it comes to choosing her food.

As a parent you must be neutral to every food and put aside your food issues so that your child can make individual food choices. Children pick up signals really fast. If you make a face while biting into a broccoli they will instantly make up their mind that broccoli is awful and they must hate it. Parents who tend to have strong dislikes for certain foods or textures tend to pass on the same to their kids. Either they would not expose their child to that food or give a strong negative signal through their reaction.
Likewise, it is also important at the same time to allow your child to develop her own choice and taste in food. And for that, you must allow her to taste as much food available at home and the market. The point here is to eat healthy, and your child must be given a healthy food habit. While she may develop aversion to certain food items (we all have that), one must be told that have it even if they don’t like it, it must be eaten for the sake of good health. This way your child will develop her own taste for food and at the same time will understand the importance of eating everything and eating healthy. Giving choice to your child is a way of nurturing a thinking process in her.
Don't forget, children pick up signals really fast. If you make a face while biting into a broccoli they will instantly make up their mind that broccoli is awful and they must hate it. So be careful and wise about your food choices in front of your child to not pass on your quirks related to certain foods to her.
