Your baby's all 5 senses are now developing!

You're 33 weeks pregnant – in month 8 of your pregnancy. Only 1 month left to go! Your little bundle is now acting more and more like a baby, with eyes closing during sleep and opening while awake. Your uterine walls are becoming thinner, so more light penetrates the womb, helping your baby differentiate between day and night.

Apart from weight gain and growth, your baby’s central nervous system is developing rapidly, and all five senses are continuing to mature as well. Your baby senses would be constantly improving and getting better with their use. Ability to hear things clearly will get better in the coming months. Therefore, any time your voice gets loud or angry, remember that your baby is listening to you.

Always ensure you spend a lot of time conversing with your little one. Singing would cause your baby to respond to you. This is a good sign of growth since it shows you that senses are functioning just as you expect them to. Frequently listening to calming songs and humming the same tunes to yourself will cause the baby to remember the music faintly and being calm when you play it back after born.

Your baby’s fat layers – which will help regulate body temperature once born – are filling out, making rounder. Your baby skin is also smoother than ever.

Movement tracking should continue. You should indulge in it on a daily basis, which is how you would notice variations in your baby at any time.
