This is a sweet popular in South India and is offered to God on various festive occasions. This is made from rice and is very light on your tummy.

1/4 cup raw rice, 1 tbsp yellow moong dal, 1/4 cup jaggery, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 pinch of saffron, 12 cashewnuts, 15 raisins, pinch of camphor, 2 cardamoms, 1 liter milk, 2 tbsp ghee
1. Wash rice and dal in water and then drain them completely.
2. Heat pressure cooker and roast rice and dal mixture in it till it turns yellowish in color.
3. Add ½ liter milk and allow it to boil in the milk.
4. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and pressure cook it for 4 whistles.
5. Allow the steam to escape and mash the cooked rice well.
6. Soak some saffron in 1 tbs hot milk and add to this mixture.
7. Crush jaggery and dissolve in some water. Strain it and add this into the mashed rice.
8. Add ½ quantity of the ghee and remaining milk. Stir for a while.
9. It should be semi-solid in consistency.
10. Add cardamom powder, saffron, camphor and raisins along with remaining ghee.
11. Garnish with fried cashews and raisins.
Serve it hot.
