Ambada Besara Khatta is a very healthy dish. Having the ambada fruit as its main ingredient, which is rich in fiber, vitamin A, C, and B6, this dish is a health booster.

    Ingredients to make Ambada Besara Khatta:

    250 gm ambada, 75gm sugar, 2 tsp mustard seeds, ½ tsp garlic, garlic 7 cloves, 2 pcs dry chili, 1 tsp panch phoran, 2 to 3 pcs curry leaves, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 3 tbsp mustard oil, salt to taste

    Steps to make Ambada Besara Khatta:

    1. Wash the aambada and cut them into four pieces. Make a fine paste of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry chilli and garlic.

    2. Heat oil in a deep pan. Add panch phoran, dry chilli and curry leaves. When it is fried, add the aambada pieces. Fry it.

    3. When well fried add the mustard paste to it. Add 2 cups of water, turmeric powder and salt. Stir well and cover it. Cook it on a low flame.

    4. When well cooked add sugar. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes till the sugar dissolves.

    Remove from flame and serve hot!
