Ash gourd is a highly nutritive vegetable with vitamins B and C along with crucial minerals that the body needs, like calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorous and also fibre. It keeps the stomach free of ulcers and intestinal parasites. Ash gourd is a natural anti-coagulant and thereby helps control bleeding and fights mental illnesses. Dosa being a fermented food adds up to the nutritional benifits of ash gourd when made as a complete unit. Ash Gourd Dosa is a very healthy and tasty south Indian dish and very easy to make.

Ash gourd-1 medium, rice-2 cup, urad dal-1 cup, salt-to tasteand oil-1/4 cup
1. Soak the rice and urad dal for 2 hrs, transfer it into a blender and add salt. Blend it into asmooth paste.
2. Transfer it into a bowl and boile add ash gourd and mix thoroughly. Allow the batter to ferment overnight or for 4-8 hours.
3. Heat the tawa and place the small thick dosa, cook it on both side using oil.
Now the Ash Gourd Dosa is ready to serve with any chutney or pickle.
