This traditional sweet dish from Odisha tastes unique and is packed with nutrients. Atta Kakara Pitha is made up of wheat flour, which is rich in carbohydrates.

1 cup atta, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 cup shredded coconut, 4 cardamoms, salt to taste, refined oil for frying
1. Roast coconut in deep frying pan. Add 1/4 cup sugar and cardamom powder to it and roast for about 10 minutes on medium flame.
2. Prepare a sugar syrup with remaining sugar and water.
3. Add ½ cup of water to ½ cup of wheat flour and stir well. Pour this aata paste in sugar syrup and stir well. Boil it.
4. Now add the remaining wheat flour to the syrup and stir it in low flame.
5. Remove from flame and knead it with oil to make a smooth dough.
6. Now make small pooris out of dough. Stuff them with roasted coconut mixture and flatten them again.
7. Heat oil in a skillet and deep fry all the pooris.
Serve hot or cold.
