This one is a traditional treat of South India that is prepared during the festivities. It is made from banana and rice along with lentils that gives it a unique flavor. The spices give an intense flavor to this dish.

1½ cups chopped banana, 1/4 cup yellow moong dal, 1 tbsp chana dal, 1 cup raw rice, 1 cup milk, 2 cups chopped jaggery, 2 tbsp ghee, 3 tbsp cashews, 2 tbsp raisins, 1 tsp cardamom powder, 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder, few strands saffron strands, 2 tbsp melted ghee
1. Heat a pan and dry roast moong dal and chana dal for 5 minutes.
2. Combine roasted dals, rice, milk and 2½ cups of water in a pressure cooker and cook till 6 whistles.
3. Let the steam escape and keep it aside. Combine jaggery and 3/4 cups of water in a non-stick pan. Cook on a medium flame for 7-8 minutes and stir continuously.
4. Add cooked rice and dal mixture to this and cook for another 5 minutes on medium flame.
5. Heat ghee in a small pan and add cashews and raisins to it. Roast them for 2 minutes.
Add bananas and mix well and serve hot with melted ghee on the top.
