There is nothing much tasty like a delicious Benne Dosa to treat your kid. It contains carbs, fat, protein, and dietary fiber.

4 cups raw rice (chawal), 1 cup urad dal (split black lentils), ½ cup puffed rice (kurmura), 3 tbsp. fenugreek (methi) seeds, salt to taste, 3 tbsp. Butter, water as required
1. Wash all the grains separately and soak rice and fenugreek seeds separately for 4-5 hours or overnight, urad dal for 2 hours and puffed rice for half an hour.
2. Grind the urad dal first in a grinder into a smooth paste adding enough water at intervals. When urad dal is well ground and fluffy remove it in a container.
3. Grind fenugreek seeds with a handful of rice and ground until fenugreek is fluffy, add puffed rice and ground well until it blends with fenugreek seeds and then add rice.
4. Ground till the rice is coarse, add salt and collect in the same container and whip all the flour well and set it aside for fermentation for about 10-12 hours.
5. Heat a tawa and grease it well with butter and pour a ladle of the batter in the centre and spread it quickly to thin dosa.
6. Now add 1 tbsp. of butter spreading all the sides of dosa and drizzle some oil around the edges.
7. Roast the dosa to a golden brown on both sides.
Serve to your child the thin crisp and thick soft benne dosa topped with some butter for today’s breakfast with masala aloo and coconut chutney.
