Biryani is a flavourful healthy dish. Its wonderful aroma and flavours make it a sought after this dish. With Biryani, you can be rest assured that all the vegetables loaded with vitamins, are being taken.

Contents
1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon oil, salt to taste, pepper, 1 cup rice, 2 cups water, cashews, curry leaves, raisins, 1 onion, few strands of saffron, 2 potatoes, 2 carrots, 1 cup peas, 1 cup coconut milk, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, mint and coriander leaves to garnish
To temper:
1 cinnamon stick, 2 cloves, 2 green cardamoms
1. Soak rice in water for about half an hour.
2. Boil the required vegetables in cooker for 2 whistle.
3. In a pan , heat a teaspoon of oil and the items under to temper.
4. Once they splutter, add the onions and cook till they turn translucent.
5. Add all the spice powders and then add the vegetables.
6. Cook for a while till the flavours blend well . Add water if too dry.
7. In a cooker, add the above mixture, add one cup of soaked rice
8. Cook for two whistles.
9. Switch off and allow to cool.
10. Garnish with curry leaves, coriander leaves, cashews and raisins.
Serve the biryani hot with raitha.
