Boiled Egg and Toast Basket

A protein rich breakfast, boiled egg and toast basket, is made using egg, peas and bread. Egg is rich in protein while peas are a good source of vitamin and minerals. Whole wheat bread provides the carbohydrates while butter the needed fats. All in all a dish that has all vital nutrients needed for a healthy lifestyle.

    Ingredients to make Boiled Egg and Toast Basket:

    1 boiled egg, ¼ peas, 2 slices of whole wheat bread, 1 tsp butter, salt as required, water as required

    Steps to make Boiled Egg and Toast Basket:

    1. In a pan, put butter. Add peas and salt. Saute for 2 minutes. Add half cup water and cook till the peas get tender. This takes about 4-5 minutes.

    2. Using a potato masher, mash the peas.

    3. Toast the whole wheat bread on a tawa.

    4. While serving, place the whole wheat bread on a plate. Apply little butter and spread the peas filling.

    Slice the boiled egg. Place the egg slices alongside the peas filled toast. Enjoy!
