Boondi Payas is an amazing version of kheer. Surprise your child with this sweet dessert. Packed with minerals and vitamins, this dish is sure to make a mark on your child's palate.

    Ingredients to make Boondi Payas:

    ¾ cup readymade sweet boondi, 5-6 saffron strands, 1 tsp. warm full fat milk, 5 cups full fat milk, 3 bay leaves (tejpatta), 5 tbsp. sugar, ½ tsp. rose water, 1 tsp. cardamom powder, 1 tbsp. pistachio slivers

    Steps to make Boondi Payas:

    1. Soak the saffron strands in tsp. of warm milk and keep aside.

    2. Boil milk in a heavy bottomed pan along with the bay leaves, simmer for 20 minutes or until the milk has reduced to half the quantity. Take care to scrape the sides of the pan while stirring.

    3. Remove the bay leaves and add the sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute while stirring continuously.

    4. Let the mixture cool completely and then add the boondi, saffron-milk mixture, rose water and cardamom powder and mix gently.

    Garnish them with pistachios slivers and serve them to your child as tonight’s dessert.
