Celery Rice

Bored with regular daal chawal, then this world cuisine Celery Rice is a great option. Rice, perked up with celery, carrots, broccoli, and spices, is fortified with bean sprouts making this quick and easy oriental dish a wholesome meal option.

    Ingredients to make Celery Rice:

    1 cup basmati rice, 2 table spoon chopped celery, chopped spring onions, ½ broccoli chopped, 1 carrot chopped, 1 tsp soy sauce, ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 star anise, 4-5 roasted cashews, ginger paste ½ tsp, salt as per taste, water to cook rice

    Steps to make Celery Rice:

    1. Boil water in a deep pan and cook rice until it tenders.

    2. Heat the 2 tbsp oil in non-stick pan, add the cinnamon stick, star anise, garlic paste and saute on a high flame.

    3. Add the chopped broccoli, carrot, spring onion, celery and saute on high flame for 1 minute. Add soy sauce and mix well.

    4. Add the rice, salt, pepper, mix well and cook for 2 minutes, while stirring occassionally.

    5. Once cooked, turn off the gas and add roasted cashews.

    The freshly celery and basmati rice gives an attractive aroma and taste to the dish when you cook.
