    Ingredients to make Chana Dal Phulauri:

    1 cup chana dal (soaked for 2 hours or more), 1 onion finely chopped, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon red chili powder, salt to taste, mustard oil for frying

    Steps to make Masoor Dal Phulauri:

    1. Grind the soaked dal in a mixer. Add little water to get thick paste.

    2. Add other ingredients except oil and whip well.

    3. In a kadai, heat mustard oil till hot.

    4. Drop a small quantity of the batter into the oil, if it comes up immediately, then the oil is ready for frying. Else wait for some more time.

    5. Fry 3/4th teaspoon of the batter in batches till golden brown.

    Serve hot with a chutney of your choice!
