Great, crispy and a nutritious dish is what you need for your kiddo as a evening snack. Chana dala is high in fiber and a rich source of zinc, folate, calcium, and protein.

2 cups chana dal, 4-5 green chiles, ½ inch chopped ginger, 7-8 garlic cloves, ½ tsp cumin seeds, ½ tsp fennel seeds, salt to taste, 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves chopped, ¼ cup chopped onions and oil for deep-frying
1. Clean, wash and soak the chana dal in enough water for 4 hours or overnight.
2. Drain the water and grind the dal coarsely. Don’t add water.
3. Transfer the dal in a bowl. Now grind ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, green chilly and fennel seeds coarsely.
4. Add the ground spices into the dal.
5. Then add chopped onion, coriander leaves and salt. Mix it well and make small balls and flatten it with your palms.
6. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the balls on a slow flame till golden brown and crisp from both the sides.
Serve hot with your favourite chutney, sauce, or dip.
