Chandrakanti Pitha is a unique and traditional delicacy from Odisha made during Diwali season to be offered to God and guests. The unique taste of this dessert makes it compulsory for all at home to have more.
Contents
1 cup moong dal, 1/4 cup rice, 1.5 cup sugar, 1 tbsp cow's ghee, salt as per taste, oil for frying
1. Rinse and soak moong dal and rice for about an hour. Now transfer them to a blender and make a fine paste. Adding little water to it.
2. Boil water equivalent to the amount of moong dal paste in a deep pan and add sugar
3. When water boils add prepared paste to it and keep stirring till it becomes thick.
4. Grease a wide thali with ghee and spread the mixture on it. After it cools down, cut the batter into desired shape and size.
5. Heat oil or ghee in a skillet and deep fry all the pithas on medium flame till they become golden brown from both sides.
Serve hot.
