Chauti Manda is quite healthy and tasty pitha stuffed with mango puree. It is steamed and not fried.

    Ingredients to make Chauti Manda:

    1 cup skinless urad dal, 2 cups rice, 2 cups mango puree, ½ cup sugar, 1tsp ghee, salt to taste

    Steps to make Chauti Manda:

    1. Wash and soak the rice and dal separately. Grind them to fine paste and then mix together. Allow it to ferment for overnight. Add salt to it.

    2. Take a non stick pan add mango puree, sugar, a pinch of salt. Cook in a low flame and stir continuously. It should have thick consistency.

    3. Grease steamer pan. Pour half of the batterspreading eventually. Now pour prepared mango puree and then cover it again with batter.

    4. Boil water in cooker, place steamer pan in cooker and steam it for 20 minutes on medium flame.

    5. Switch off the flame and take it out from steamer.

    Let it cool and then cut into pieces to serve.
