Chicken Shammi

Perk up your child's health quotient with this delicious and tempting Chicken Shammi, prepared by minced chicken and chana dal and tempering of onion and tomato. The main ingredients of this shammi kebab are rich in protein.

    Ingredients to make Chicken Shammi:

    ½ cup soaked chana dal, 250 gm chicken thigh cubes, minced, 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped tomato, ½ tsp black pepper, 1 tsp grated coconut, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 2 eggs, coriander leaves, mint leaves, 1 tsp ginger -garlic paste, salt as per taste, oil for frying

    Steps to make Chicken Shammi:

    1. Boil the chana dal along with the chicken thigh cubes. Let the chicken cook. Strain and keep aside to cool.

    2. Heat i tbsp oil in a pan; add onion and saute it. Add tomatoes and sprinkle salt. Saute it for a while.

    3. Add onion tomato mixture, 1 egg, chopped coriander, mint, ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder grated coconut, salt in chana dal and chicken mixture; mix well and mince.

    4. Make round shape kebabs of the mixture.

    5. Coat the kebabs in the remaining egg white, and pan fry them in oil.

    Serve these tempting Chicken Shammi with mint or tamarind chutney.
