Chikoo jam is a very healthy jam for your kid. Chikoos are full of dietary fiber alongside magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, and a list of other useful nutrients.

Ingredients to make Chikoo Jam:
Chikoo 1 kg, sugar 650 gram, citric acid 4 gm, water 2 tablespoons, sodium benzoate 1 teaspoon (as required)
Steps to make Chikoo Jam:
1. Wash, peel and chop chikoo finely, discarding seeds and the white portion.
2. Combine chikoo and sugar in a pan and place the pan on fire.
3. Stir till sugar dissolves.
4. Add citric acid dissolved in water.
5. Cook till the mixture reaches spreading consistency and the syrup does not separate quickly.
6. Add preservative in the proportion of 1 gm. per 1 kg. of the finished product (dissolve preservative in 1 teaspoon water).
Fill the jam in the sterilized bottles. Close tightly. Store in a cool, dry place. Serve it with bread to your little kid.
