Prepare this delicious flaky from outside and soft from inside pastry for your child. These christmas special pastries are perfect for any day snacks and are loaded with vitamins and calcium.

    Ingredients to make Christmas Kal Kal:

    1 cup maida, 4 tbsp ghee, a pinch of salt, a pinch of baking soda, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/3rd cup coconut milk, ½ cup soji, 1 tbsp sesame seeds, 1/3rd cup powdered sugar for coating, oil for frying

    Steps to make Christmas Kal Kal:

    1. Sift maida and suji in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt.

    2. Add ghee in maida and rub the maida with it.

    3. Add baking soda, vanilla extract, and mix well. Lastly add coconut milk and knead a dough.

    4. The dough should be soft and smooth. Keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.

    5. Now take marble sized balls from the dough, gently flatten the ball with fingers over the fork or clean comb. Start rolling from one end till another end. Seal the both ends. Sprinkle sesame seeds over it.

    6. Deep fry all the kalkals. Keep them on kitchen napkins.

    7. Sprinkle powdered sugar over them when kalkals are warm so that sugar coats them properly.

    Serve warm and store them in a airtight container.
