You can add a twist to the regular pooris by flavouring the poori dough with little sugar, cardamom powder, and grated coconut. The resultant snack or breakfast item, Coconut Poori tastes awesome and is a carbohydrates-rich snack ideal for your child.

Ingredients to make Coconut Poori:

2 cups maida, 1 tbsp sugar, ½ cup coconut, ½ tsp cardamom powder, oil for deep frying, 1 tsp oil

Steps to make Coconut Poori:

1. In a pan, dry roast the grated coconut for 2-3 minutes. Remove in a plate and allow it to cool.

2. In a mixing bowl, add the maida, oil, grated coconut, cardamom powder and sugar.

3. Mix well and add water little by little to form a semi soft dough. Let the dough rest for 5- 10 mins.

4. In a kadai, pour oil to fry the pooris.

5. Take a small ball sized dough from the mixture and roll it in the shape of a small circle.

6. Fry the puris on both sides till golden brown and crisp.

7. Remove the puris and drain the excess oil on a kitchen tissue.

Hot and mouthwatering Coconut Pooris are ready for your child to devour and enjoy! Serve warm.
