Dapka Kadhi

This is one of the most authentic dishes, which is delicious and nutritious too. Moong dal is a good source of vitamins, minerals, and protein. It is easy to digest, protects and heals liver too.

    Ingredients to make Dapka Kadhi:

    2 tbsp besan, 2 cups curd/ yogurt, 2 tsp oil, 1 cup moong daal, 1 tsp ghee, 1/4 tsp mustard seeds, 1/4 tsp cumin seeds, 4 curry leaves, 2 red chilies, a pinch of asafetida, 1 pinch baking soda, 3 tsp sugar, salt to taste, 4 green chili, chopped ginger piece (an inch long), and chopped coriander leaves

    Steps to make Dapka Kadhi:

    1. Soak moong dal in lukewarm water for 3 hours. Drain and keep aside.

    2. Grind moong dal to a fine paste along with green chilli, ginger, salt, sugar, soda, and 2 tsp oil. Keep aside.

    3. Take a bowl and add yogurt , besan, sugar and salt. Whisk it properly.

    4. Heat ghee. Splutter mustard seeds, jeera, hing, red chillies, green chillies and chopped ginger.

    5. Now pour yogurt mixture and stir it well. Add water and bring to boil.

    6. Once it starts boiling, add the above moong dal paste a little at a time using your fingertips to form dumplings. Simmer till the dumplings are steamed, cooked, and float. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

    Serve Dapka Kadhi with rotlas/hot rice.
