You can make one of India’s most favourite sweets, Gulab Jamun for your kid in the comfort of your home with simple ingredients. Gulab jamun is packed with saturated fat and simple carbohydrates.

1 tbsp. maida, 100 gms khova, 2 tbsp.milk, ½ tsp. cardamom powder, ¼ tsp. baking soda, 2 cup sugar syrup, ghee for frying
1. Mash the khova well in a mixing bowl. Mix in the maida and baking soda and knead into firm dough.
2. The dough should be pliable and if you feel the dough is dry, you can wet your hands in milk and work the dough again.
3. Shape the dough into small balls that are smooth and creaseless.
4. Heat ghee in a pan and fry the jamuns in a low flame till they are golden brown all over.
5. Mix the cardamom powder in the sugar syrup. 6. Drain the jamuns and soak them in sugar syrup.
6. Allow the jamuns to soak in sugar syrup for half an hour.
