Fusion Rice

Prepare this one pot meal to fill your diet with the protein and fiber. Brown rice mixed with classic Bengali chana dal prepares an easy and perfect lunch meal, called Fusion Rice.

    Ingredients to make Fusion Rice:

    ½ cup chana dal, 1/4th cup brown rice, 1/4th cup white rice, cumin seeds, 2 bay leaves, ghee, water, salt, turmeric powder

    Steps to make Fusion Rice:

    1. Wash the chana dal and rice in running water and soak it for 15 minutes.

    2. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in pressure cooker, add asafoetida, cumin seeds. When the seeds starts to splutter add bay leaf and saute it.

    3. Now add the dal and rice along with water. Pressure cook for two whistles.

    4. Remove from heat and let the steam escape on its own.

    Serve warm with curd, chutney and paapad.
