Ghol bhaji

Ghol bhaji is the simplest recipe to make. Ghol leaves or purslane is a wonderful and tasty little plant with a tangy taste, which may sometimes be relished by you. Ghol leaves contain high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, and calcium.

    Ingredients to make Ghol bhaji

    1 cup ghol/purslane leaves, salt to taste, 2 tsp.coriander powder, ¼ tsp. turmeric powder, 2 tbsp. fresh grated coconut, 1 tsp. chilli powder, 1 tsp. ginger garlic paste, 1 finely chopped tomato, 1 onion finely chopped, ½ tsp cumin seeds, 1 tbsp.oil, a pinch of asafoetida

    Steps to make Ghol Bhaji:

    1. Heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds and fry onions till they are light brown.

    2. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 3 minutes or until the raw smell fades away. Add tomatoes and a pinch of salt and cook till they are bit mushy.

    3. Add the remaining spices and chopped leaves, required salt, and mix well. Cover and cook till the water is absorbed.

    4. Garnish with fresh grated coconut.

    Serve Ghol Bhaji with hot rotis.
