Golpapdi(jaggery)

Golpapdi is a traditional sweet Gujarati recipe specially made in winters to keep the body warm from inside. Made from little ghee, this is healthy and very delicious.

    Ingredients to make Golpapdi(jaggery):

    1 cup wheat flour, 1 tsp poppy seeds, 5tbsp ghee, 3/4 cup grated jaggery, 1/4 tsp cardamom powder, 1 tsp grated coconut, a handful of chopped almonds and pistachios

    Steps to make Golpapdi(jaggery):

    1. Heat ghee in a skillet and roast wheat flour in it. Keep the flame low. Keep stirring continuously.

    2. Remove from flame and add cardamom powder, jaggery, coconut. Mix well.

    3. Grease a thali with ghee and sprinkle poppy seeds over it.

    4. Now pour the wheat flor jaggery mixture on to prepared greased thali and spread it evenly.

    5. While it is a little warm, cut it into pieces. Sprinkle chopped almonds and pistachios on it.

    Serve warm or cold.
