Gudila (matar) is an authentic recipe made from fresh green peas. Prepare and delight your child for his breakfast. Green peas are indeed packed with several vital nutrients.

2 cups green peas/matar (ground coarsely), 2 aloo (peel the skin and cut in 1 inch pieces), 2 onions finely chopped, 1 tsp. each garlic and ginger paste, ½ tsp. cumin powder, ¼ tsp. turmeric powder, ½ tsp. red chili powder, 1 tsp. garam masala powder, 2 cloves, 2 choti ilaichi, 4 tbsp. oil, 2 tsp. ghee, salt as per taste
1. Heat oil in a pan; add chopped onions and fry till golden brown colour.
2. Add garlic and ginger paste and sauté until the raw smell fades away. Add all the masalas except clove and ilaichi and stir well.
3. Now add the aaloo, ground peas and stir and cover. Add 2 cups of water and bring to boil. Simmer and cook until the aaloo is cooked well.
4. Heat ghee in a tempering pan and fry the clove and the ilaichi and pour it on the matar.
Serve the matar to your child with poori and enjoy the way he relishes every bite of it.
