Jam Bars

These are great for breakfast and dessert and can be eaten at any given point of the day. Your kiddo would love to have these Jam Bars again and again. They contain protein and healthy fats.

    Ingredients to make Jam Bars:

    1½ cups of all purpose flour, 125 gm cold cubed butter, 1 egg, 2-3 tbs cold milk, 200-300 gm jam, 50 gm sugar, 1-2 tbs flaked coconut

    Steps to make Jam Bars:

    1. Preheat oven at 175 degrees and grease the baking tray.

    2. Put flour, coconut, sugar, butter and egg in a mixer and blend well until you get a crumbly mixture.

    3. Now add milk and blend till you get a firm dough.

    4. Transfer this dough into a pan and then take small portions and roll it into a circle.

    5. Spread a thin layer of jam on each circle.

    6. Spread the coconut flakes over it.

    7. Cover these circles with another thin layer of the dough and then place into a baking tray.

    8. Bake for 25-35 minutes till they turn golden brown.

    9. Take them out and let them cool completely.

    Cut them into squares and sprinkle some coconut flakes on them.
