Jam Ribbons

These are the tasty baked buttery ribbons that are light on your child’s tummy and it looks so lovely that your kid will finish it off with a big smile.

Ingredients to make Jam Ribbons:

1 cup melted butter, ½ cup sugar, 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2¼ cup all purpose flour, ½ tsp baking powder, ¼ tsp salt, ½ cup jam, 1 cup sugar, 2 tbs milk, ½ tsp vanilla extract for glazing

Steps to make Jam Ribbons:

1. Take a large bowl and add melted butter and granulated sugar, mix them well till they turn creamy and fluffy.

2. Beat one egg in another bowl and add vanilla. Add this to the sugar and butter mix and mix well.

3. Now slowly and slowly add flour, baking powder and salt to this mixture.

4. Form a smooth dough and then divide it into small portions.

5. Shape this dough into a form of 10x2 inch log.

6. Grease the baking tray with butter and place butter paper into it. Keep these logs into the baking tray.

7. Now bake these logs into the oven at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.

8. Make a depression into these logs and fill them up with jam.

9. Again bake them for 10-15 minutes till they turn light brown in colour.

10. Take them out of the oven and cool for 2 minutes.

11. Now bring them to a cutting board and cut into 3/4 inch slices.

12. Prepare the glaze by using sugar, milk and vanilla extract.

Drizzle over warm Jam Ribbons and let them cool completely.
