Jhangora is a kind of a millet having high source of minerals and fibre and can boost your health in several ways. Jhangore ki Kheer is very commonly made in Uttarakhand and loved by all. You can and add more flavour to the one with the sweet tooth.

½ cup Jhangora/Barnyard millet, soaked for 1 hour, ½ cup sugar, 2 litres milk, 2 tbsp cashewnuts (chopped), 2 tbsp almonds (chopped), 2 tbsp raisins, 2 drops kewra essence, 1 pinch saffron
1. Take a shallow pan and boil the milk, once the milk starts boiling simmer the gas and add sugar. Continously stir the milk and simmer till it reduces to half the volume.
2. Then add Saffron, Jhangora, nuts and raisins. Stir well.
Your kheer is ready to be served warm or chilled
