    Ingredients to make Kachayam:

    1 cup maida, 2 tbsp rice flour, ½ cup sugar, 1 tsp crushed fennel seeds, ½ cup grated coconut, a drop of red food colour, 1 tsp baking soda, oil for frying, water as required

    Steps to make Kachayam:

    1. In a bowl, add sugar, water and crushed fennel seeds. Mix well.

    2. Now add maida and rice flour and make a thick batter. Add grated coconut and mix well.

    3. Add food colour and baking soda and stir well.

    4. Heat oil in a skillet and drop batter in oil in small spoon. Fry till golden brown from both sides.

    Serve hot.
