Raw turmeric is rich in vitamins and minerals. It’s a good source of vitamin B6 and minerals like calcium, iron and potassium. Raw turmeric has good medicinal properties and is effective in treating cold and cough especially during winters. Using this amazing ingredient along with garlic, peanuts, and spices, you can prepare delicious Kachi Haldi ki Chutney for your little one.

    Ingredients to make Kachi Haldi Ki Chutney:

    ½ cup raw turmeric, ¼ cup roasted peanuts, 1 tbsp channa dal, 2 tsp coriander seeds, 3 red chillies, 3 garlic cloves, 1 onion, ¼ tsp black pepper, 3 tsp oil, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 5-10 curry leaves, salt as required

    Steps to make Kachi Haldi Ki Chutney:

    1. Peel and grate the haldi.

    2. In a pan, dry roast channa dal, coriander seeds, red chillies and black pepper for 3-4 minutes. Grind to a fine powder.

    3. In the same pan, add oil. Add the finely chopped onion and garlic cloves. Saute for 2-3 minutes. Add the raw turmeric and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

    4. Grind the above mixture to a coarse paste.

    5. Transfer the paste to a bowl. Add the spice powder, sugar and salt.6. In a small kadai, add oil. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Once they splutter, add the roasted peanuts and garnish the chutney with this tempering. Give a good mix.

    Yummy and healthy Kachi Haldi ki Chutney is ready to be relished by your child with chapati, plain rice, or dosa. Enjoy!
