Kalama Saga is a typical type of saga that is found in Orissa (now Odisha). You can prepare a delicious side dish, Kalama Saga Bhaja for lunch. The saga is flavoured with garlic and onion and is easy to prepare. It is rich in vital vitamin and minerals like iron, calcium, magnesium and potassium and vitamin A.

½ cup kalama saga, 5-7 garlic cloves, 1 onion, 1 green chili, 2 tsp refined oil, 1 dry chili, salt as required
1. Wash and finely chop the kalama Saga. Slit the green chilli and finely chop the garlic cloves and onion.
2. In a deep pan, cook the kalama saga with little salt. Once it is half cooked, remove from flame.
3. In a kadai, add oil. Once warm, add green chili and garlic cloves. Saute for 2 minutes.
4. Add the finely chopped onion and saute till golden brown.
5. Now add the half cooked saga. Stir and cook for another 5 minutes.
Delicious Kalama Saga Bhaja is ready. Serve with rice.
