Kale Chane ki Kadi

This is a very healthy recipe with a tangy flavor of yogurt curry and liked by almost all the kids. Its flavor is indeed finger licking and gives energy to the body.

    Ingredients to make Kale Chane ki Kadi:

    ½ cup kala chana washed and soaked overnight, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 2 garlic cloves, 1 chopped onion, ½ cup water, salt to taste, pinch of hing, ¼ tsp of fenugreek seeds, ¼ tsp mustard seeds, 1¼ tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp oil, 2 dried red chilies, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 4 tbs chickpea flour, 1 cup yogurt, 1 tsp oil for tempering.

    Steps to make Kale Chane Ki Kadi:

    1. Pressure cook the soaked chana with 1.5 cups of water for about half an hour.

    2. In a bowl, add yogurt, chickpea flour, turmeric powder, salt and whisk well to make a smooth batter.

    3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, dry red chilies, fenugreek seeds and hing.

    4. When they are roasted lightly then add yogurt mixture to it and bring it to a boil.

    5. Now, add black chana to this mixture and give a good stir. Let it boil first and then let it cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat.

    Serve this kadhi hot with bajra roti or wheat roti.
