Khai (Lia) Chop

Khai(Lia) Chop or puffed rice cutlet is an authentic and delicious dish to be served to all in snacks. A very easy to prepare item, this dish is rich in calcium and carbohydrates.

    Ingredients to make Khai (Lia) Chop:

    2 cups paddy puff, 2 boiled potatoes, 1 large onion chopped, 2 green chilli chopped, 1 inch grated mango ginger, 1 grated carrot, 1 tbsp besan, coriander leaves chopped, 2 tbs chaat masala, 1 tsp black salt, oil for frying and salt to taste.

    Steps to make Khai (Lia) Chop:

    1. Wash paddy puff. Drain excess water by squeezing paddy puff with hands.

    2. Take paddy puff, boiled potatoes, grated carrot, onion, green chilli, mango ginger, besan, chaar masala, cumin powder, salt, black salt in a bog bowl. Mix all the ingredients very well.

    3. Make small balls out of this mixture.

    4. Heat oil in a skillet and fry these cutlets till golden brown from all sides.

    Serve hot with green chutney.
