A quick and easy roti to prepare is Khasta Roti. With simple ingredients like wheat flour and rava, both a good source of carbohydrates, this roti can be prepared. Flavoured with ghee and salt, Khasta Roti is very nutritious.

    Ingredients to make Khasta Roti:

    ¾ cup wheat flour, ¼ cup semolina, 2 tbsp ghee, salt to taste

    Steps to make Khasta Roti:

    1. In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients. Give a good mix using your finger tips.

    2. Add enough water to make a semi soft dough.

    3. Make small balls of the dough and roll each to the size of a roti.

    4. On a hot tawa, put the rolled roti and cook on both sides till small blisters appear on the surface.

    5. Then transfer the roti directly over hot flame till it puffs up like a phulka.

    Serve hot Khasta Rotis with your child’s favourite sabzi. Enjoy!
