Prepare a main course meal, which is full of fibre, protein, anti-oxidants, and is easy digestible too for your child. Lauki Adauri is famous in Bihar and is often offered in lunch.

1 medium sized lauki (peeled and chopped), Adauri(urad daal vadi) 10-12 pieces, 2 tbsp mustard oil, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 2-3 green chiles chopped, salt as per taste, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp roasted masala powder – 1 tsp roast and grind together ½ tsp cumin, 1 green cardamom, 2 cloves, 1 small pc cinnamon, 1 tbsp ghee
1. Heat oil in a kadai and fry adauris till golden brown. Drain and keep aside.
2. Add cumin seeds in the oil and allow them to splutter. Add green chiles and saute.
3. Add lauki and stir well. Now add salt and turmeric powder. Mix and cook covered on low heat till done while stirring in between.
4. Add the adauris midway. The adauris should also get cooked and broken while stirring.
5. Keep the flame on high and let the excess moisture get absorbed.
6. Add the masala powder and ghee mix and remove from heat.
Serve hot with rice.
