Lehsoni Rolls

The fluffiest, most amazing Lehsoni Rolls made with whole wheat flour is a great finger food snack. It is rich in carbohydrates and fibre, plus it is easy to digest due to the presence of garlic and carom seeds.

    Ingredients to make Lehsoni Rolls:

    1.5 cup of whole wheat flour, 2 tbsp maida, 1 tsp dry active yeast, ½ tsp sugar, 1 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp butter, ½ tbsp crushed garlic, 1 tsp chopped celery, 1/4 tsp dry oregano, ½ tsp ajwain, ½ tbsp olive oil, salt, water and pepper as required

    Steps to make Lehsoni Rolls:

    1. Mix the 1/2 tsp sugar and yeast in warm water and allow it to sit for 10 minutes.

    2. Once the yeast activates, add the flours, salt and oil to the yeast mixture bowl.

    3. Mix well and knead a soft and smooth dough. RUb oil on the whole dough and keep covered for about 1 hour.

    4. Beat the butter in a bowl with a spoon till light and fluffy. Add celery, crushed garlic, ajwain, salt, oregano as per taste.

    5. Take the kneaded dough and punch it lightly before making rolls.

    6. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts and flatten each ball using rolling pin.

    7. Spread the garlic butter evenly on each flattened dough.

    8. Roll the dough till the end. SLice the rolls into 2 equal parts.

    9. Grease a pan and keep all the rolls and brush them with remaining garlic butter. Cover and allow it to rest for another 30 minutes or till the rolls double up.

    10. Bake the lehsoni rolls in a pre-heated oven for 30-40 minutes at 180 degrees C.

    Serve the Lehsoni Rolls with cheese dip or garlic tomato dip.
