Malabari Mango Kadhi

Malabari Mango Kadhi is a sumptuous Kerala recipe just for your child to enjoy the delicious taste of it. Mangoes are high in vitamins, potassium, dietary fiber, and folate.

    Ingredients to make Malabari Mango Kadhi:

    1 cup ripe mango cut into pieces, 1 tsp. roasted cumin seeds, 1 cup shallot onion, 1 cup curd, ½ tsp. red chilli powder, ¼ tsp. turmeric powder, 1 tsp. coconut oil, ½ tsp. mustard seeds, ¼ tsp. fenugreek seeds, ½ cup grated coconut, 1 red chili broken, 5-6 curry leaves, salt to taste, a pinch of sugar, and 1 tbsp. chopped coriander leaves

    Steps to make Malabari Mango Kadhi:

    1. In a medium sized pan cook the mango pieces in half cup water for 3-4 minutes.

    2. Grind the cumin seeds, shallot onion, coconut, turmeric, chill powder to a smooth paste. Transfer the ground paste to the pan and simmer for 3-4 minutes.

    3. Whisk the curd with required salt and half cup of water without lumps.

    4. When the mango-coconut mixture has simmered for about few minutes, switch off the flame and add the beaten curd and stir well.

    5. Heat oil in a tempering pan and add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, red chillies, and curry leaves and add to the curry and mix well.

    Serve this kadhi with steam cooked rice to your child for today’s lunch.
