Pooris are children’s favourite. You can make delicious Meethi Pooris, which are loved by children using simple ingredients, maida, and sugar. This is an instant snack or breakfast item and once eaten gives the necessary carbohydrates for your child to meet his energy needs.

Ingredients to make Meethi Pooris:

2 cups maida, ½ cup powdered sugar, 1 cup sugar, oil for deep frying, 1 tsp oil, water as required

Steps to make Meethi Pooris:

1. In a vessel, pour half cup water and add sugar. On a medium flame, keep stirring till the sugar completely dissolves and you get a little thick sugar syrup. Allow the syrup to cool.

2. Make a dough using maida and oil. Mix well. Add water carefully to get a semi soft dough. Let the dough rest for 5 minutes.

3. In a kadai, pour oil to fry the pooris.

4. Take a small ball sized dough and roll it in the shape of a small circle.

5. Fry the puris on both sides till golden brown and crisp.

6. Remove the pooris and drain the excess oil on a kitchen tissue.

7. Sprinkle little powdered sugar on top of the poori.

8. While still warm, dip the pooris in the vessel containing sugar syrup and leave them for half a minute.

9. Remove and serve the yummy Meethi pooris to your little one.

You can prepare the balance pooris and store them in an air tight container.
