This is a popular dish of Kashmir that is made in a yogurt gravy with lotus roots. This is a healthy curry that keeps your kids yearning for more as it has a tangy flavor of yogurt along with other spices.

500 gms lotus roots or nadir cut into two inch piece, 1 tsp ghee, half tsp shahi jeera, half tsp cumin seeds, 2 green cardamom, 3 brown cardamom, 1 cinnamon stick, 4 cloves, 2 tbs fennel powder, 1/4 tsp sonth, ½ tsp mint leaves, 2 cups yogurt, salt to taste
1. Take some water in a pan and boil the lotus seeds in it till they are half cooked.
2. Blend yogurt with fennel seed powder and water. Now put it on a medium flame and bring it to a boil. Keep stirring it continuously.
3. As the yogurt thickens, add lotus root and little water
4. Temper it with hot ghee, fried cardamom, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon. Add salt, shahi jeera and dry mint powder.
5. Simmer it till it thickens and lotus roots are completely cooked.
Serve it hot with roti.
